Seems like the in thing these days is to spawn. I’m now an uncle, and several of my friends are about to have their first children, just had children, or have recently added to their brood. So I started imagining a mix of baby songs this morning in the shower. Right away, I thought of, of course, Talking Heads’ “Stay up Late.” It’s probably the best song ever about a baby.

But after that? I was drawing blanks. In the time it took me to use up all the hot water, I only thought up two more songs: the mostly inappropriate “Billie Jean,” and the grotesquely inappropriate (yet politically necessary) “La Femme Fetal,” by Digable Planets.

What am I missing?

  1. Also slightly innaprope:

    Lighting Crashes - Live

Isn’t She Lovely - Stevie Wonder. Did you think this song was about a love affair at first too? Nope.

  2. also inappropriate - papa dont preach
