So far, I’ve only really used Bluetooth to enable dialup to the University’s modem pool from my laptop. Occasionally, I’ve used it a little bit for file transfers; I don’t know how else I could possibly get photos from the camera to the computer, even though those photos are, of course, always already terrible (but maybe better in incandescent light than in natural light). However, I never thought to use bluetooth the other way—to send files from my computer to the phone.
For years, I’ve wanted to have the “Internationale” as my ring tone. Don’t ask why; it’s just a thing. But none of the standard ringtones sites would ever have it, and that made me sad. But today I figured, why not download a midi version, and send it to the phone via Bluetooth? Enter Google, and within two minutes, I’d found this site, and now this version of the song is my general ringtone. How exciting!
By the way, this idea was sparked a little after checking out Wolfram’s ringtone generator, which provides you with a midi file you can save to your hd, too. The step of putting it on your phone wirelessly—that’s what I’d been missing.
