A conversation between Tim and his young nephew, aged 7, upon the nephew’s watching war coverage:

“Iran and Iraq are both Muslim, why were they fighting?”

“Well, you know, you have Sunnis, Shiites, sectarian differences, socialists, myriad religious differences within the category of Islam.”

“So if we didn’t have religions, would we have anything to fight over?”

“I don’t know.”

“Oh yes, of course. We would fight over who has money and who doesn’t have money.”

Nephew was satisfied with his insight and went off to play with some toys.
