Recent distance from the web has been largely the result of, in part, being burned out from the election and World Series, as well as certain situations that take my usual writing time and turn it into something else. I guess that’s overly vague, but whatever.
That said, I just want to go on the record that, somehow, the writers on The O.C. managed to make the show better over the summer. I didn’t really notice it during the season premiere, but this week’s episode was truly a fantastic piece of work. I feel like I don’t have the energy to spout by myself why it’s fantastic, now, but I will say this: they definitely worked long hours to turn Summer into a human being. I was almost moved to tears by her this episode—something that last season I thought could never happen. The way Summer said that Seth had her at Chrismukkah, and then again in June… Man. Great stuff. Fine TV.

if you know it’s overly vague, why bother saying it

oh man, the OC DID get better. i couldn’t have asked for more. marissa’s burgeoning alcoholism, caleb’s arrest, seth turning into a loser again, summer kicking ass. mo, it makes me happy to know that you love this show too. keep it up.
